Frequently asked questions - Correx
Whether you’re working on a construction site, a renovation project, or simply need reliable temporary floor and surface protection, Correx is a go-to solution across the industry. At Sitepro, we know you may have questions about how it’s used, what options are available, and how to get the best results on-site.
To help, we’ve put together answers to the most common questions about Correx — from fire ratings and safe installation to custom printing and correct terminology. As one of the only authorised UK distributors of genuine Correx (alongside Beck), you can trust Sitepro to provide the right product, every time.
What is it used for?
Black Correx is a lightweight, durable board used on construction and renovation sites to protect floors, walls, and surfaces from dust, debris, and impact, ideal for temporary floor protection.
Is Correx fire-rated?
Not all Correx is fire-rated. However, fire-rated Correx (compliant with LPS1207) is available from Sitepro Direct.
Can I cut and shape it?
Yes. Correx is easily cut with a utility knife and can be trimmed or scored to fit awkward areas on-site.
Correx vs. Corex – what’s the difference?
“Correx” is a brand name for fluted polypropylene board. “Corex” is usually a misspelling or alternate spelling. Always verify thickness and fire rating when ordering.
Is it safe on newly laid flooring?
Absolutely. Our 2mm thickness Correx board provides reliable protection against scuffs and light damage. Use low-tack tape to avoid adhesive marks.
Can I get it custom printed?
Yes, Sitepro Direct offers custom-printed Correx for branding or safety signage. Contact us for custom sizes, logos, or instructions.
Who are the official distributors of Correx in the UK?
Genuine Correx is only distributed in the UK by Sitepro Direct and Beck. Buying from an authorised distributor ensures you receive the authentic product with the right quality and performance standards.
