How Can You Protect Your Blocks From The Rain?

At this time of year, the issue of persistent bad weather and dropping temperatures can start to cause problems on unprotected construction sites. When there's been a spell of heavy rainfall, like recently, items can become waterlogged or damaged. Whilst they can withstand a level of moisture, blocks and bricks are susceptible to becoming waterlogged which can mean that they cannot be laid and cause further delays and costs incurred.

You should cover stacks of bricks and blocks to protect against rain. Blocks that are saturated can suffer damage when laid. It is best to protect your materials with a cover or allow them to dry out before laying. That's why we're really pleased to announce a brand new temporary protection product - Proguard Block Stack Covers.

They have been designed specifically to protect block and brick stacks onsite from exactly these kinds of issues and can prevent blocks or bricks from absorbing water and becoming too heavy to handle or lay. They are manufactured out of heavy-duty, fluted polypropylene, and coloured in high visibility yellow, maximising safety for personnel on site. These strong durable protectors are also lightweight and easy to assemble and can be flat packed away to reuse on future projects. Block Stack Covers both increase safety and productivity on site by making block stacks easier to see in low visibility situations and keeping blocks dry so that work can continue sooner after wet weather.

Benefits:

  • Fast & easy identification of block stacks on site.
  • Keeps blocks dry in wet weather.
  • Easy to assemble.
  • Easy to flat pack for storage & re-use.
  • Hi-visibility yellow – maintains a professional image on site.

Application:

Fold the cover along its crease lines and lock together using the tabs provided to assemble. Once assembled, place the cover over the top of the block stack to protect it against wet weather. If windy weather is expected, it may be advisable to weight the top of the cover.

Get ahead of the weather and protect your site from costly and unnecessary delays with Proguard Block Stack Covers.
